Bring on the Google Caffeine

UPDATE: On the 8th June 2010 Google announced the release of the caffeine update. It is now available on all data centres and is fully operational. Read More

Are you ready?

Based on the notice we see now from the Google Sandbox, it looks like Google Caffeine test has been a success and it has indeed been launched… only on one data centre so far.

“Based on the success we’ve seen, we believe Caffeine is ready for a larger audience. Soon we will activate Caffeine more widely, beginning with one data center. This sandbox is no longer necessary and has been retired, but we appreciate the testing and positive input that webmasters and publishers have given. ”

I am not to sure how long we will have to wait until it gets to South Africa, but one thing is certain, it is coming.

What should we do?

  • Don’t sit around and do nothing, it is time to take a “Fresh Content Marketing” approach to make sure that your site will not be one of the ones that fall through the cracks.
  • Start now. Get into the habit of posting new content today. If your site has not been updated for months then don’t expect it to be anywhere in the top results once the Google Caffeine update arrives.
  • If you don’t have an article section, news section or blog then now is the time to think about one.

Whichever strategy you use, just make sure that it uses “Fresh Content“, that is all there is to it.

Again, Well put Bryan. In the States, it seems Caffeine is due to begin roll-out after whatever holidays they are having at the moment – I am assuming that would be Their Christmas / Winter – which would mean Jan or February roll out.

According to Mr Cutts himself, they will begin with one data-centre and progress from their. So the rest of the world could be waiting up-to a full year for this.

I for one will be keeping an eye on the SERPS in the US and UK, shortly after UK we are sure to follow….
