What is a Gravatar

This concept invented by Tom Werner allows users to store their online profile pictures “global avatars” in one central place. Once the user has set up a Gravatar they will be able to see their picture in the majority of blog posts they make.

WordPress allows you to easily input Gravatars  on your site by using the Gravatars2 Enhanced Caching Plugin which handles cache a lot better than the Gravatar.com Plugin . This plugin is fairly easy to install and speeds up the loading time.
